The Heating and Cooling Contractors
Association (often referred to as HACCA) was formed in 1970 as the Metropolitan
HVAC Association, Inc.
Membership in the Association is made up of
contractors, equipment manufacturers, wholesalers, utilities, educators and
associate members.
Every application for membership in HACCA
must be approved by the Association Board of Directors. Contractors must be licensed in all
jurisdictions in which they operate, be insured and bonded.
HACCA holds regular membership meetings on
the third Tuesday of each month September through May, skipping the December
meeting. Membership dues include a free
meal at each regular meeting. Membership
meetings are an opportunity to network with peers, enjoy a social atmosphere
and learn from the programs presented.
Programs include equipment updates, code changes, community speakers,
industry news and other content.
Each spring HACCA sponsors a Product Show and
Seminar for the area HVAC industry.
Member vendors can display their wares and socialize with area
contractors. A number of seminars are
presented with top name speakers from around the country with seminar content
designed for a variety of employees.
An annual golf outing is held each year in
August and HACCA participates in the Lincoln Association meeting in May.
A study of HVAC permits issued in the Omaha
area show that HACCA members perform over three fourths of all the work in the
area.
The Association is active in local and state
government affairs on issues that affect the industry or the membership. The Association attempts to represent the
industry in a positive fashion and works to increase the professionalism and
respect for the industry.
